Who We Are

Ryan Brockman is the founder and President of Edwin Capital, established to acquire and operate a services business generating up to $2 million in EBITDA. He brings 30 years of experience across technology, healthcare, and financial services, starting as a software engineer and working through management consulting, product management, and most recently practice leadership at AWS.

At CenturyLink Cloud, Ryan ran a managed services line. He modeled what it cost to deliver, negotiated the vendor contracts, wrote the operational runbook, and staffed the on-call rotation behind it. It gave him a working feel for what customers pay, what delivery costs, and where margin opportunities sit.

At AWS, Ryan built the Healthcare and Life Sciences practice within Professional Services, growing it from six consultants into a $106 million business over seven years. The team grew to more than 100 consultants, engineers, and technical staff across North America and Europe, with six managers reporting to him. When the practice's largest account ran over budget and behind schedule, Ryan stepped in and found the original estimate had been roughly four times too low. He secured additional funding and had the team hitting milestones within six weeks. The account remained the practice's largest for years afterward.

Ryan built his career as an engineer, not through a traditional business-school path. Much of what he knows about operating a business he learned in the throes of leading and delivering the work. He also understands what an acquisition asks of the owner. His first job was at a small software company that sold its platform to a major UK pharmaceutical company, and he spent close to a year handing it over — an experience he's carried into how he thinks about a transition.

A lifelong Midwesterner, Ryan lives in St. Louis. He named the company for his great-grandfather, Edwin Brockman, a Missouri farmer he knew into his teens.
